Senior Docketing Specialist

Prestigious patent and trademark law firm seeks a Senior Docketing Specialist, who will be primarily responsible for analyzing and managing all incoming correspondence related to IP matters handled by the firm and ensuring that the primary docketing system is updated accordingly.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with the reconciliation of the firm’s primary and secondary docket systems and responding to department inquiries; removing US and Foreign due dates in the firm’s docketing systems based upon confirmed USPTO filings and/or filings from foreign associates; reviewing and monitoring the case prosecution history in the firm’s docketing system on a daily basis; maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all data entry; interacting with IT department personnel and systems vendors as needed; preparing daily statistical data reports regarding the volume of incoming correspondence; assisting with the processing and review of New File Information Forms; assisting in the fulfilling of departmental email requests for data updates; maintaining knowledge of US and Foreign patent and trademark laws and regulations; additional miscellaneous duties as required.

7-10 years of US and Foreign Filing and/or patent law firm experience. 7-10 years foreign patent and trademark experience preferred. High School Graduate, 2 years of college preferred. Individual must possess outstanding organizational and communication skills. Must be a problem-solver who works well under pressure and is able to quickly learn and retain new information relating to the docketing of IP matters.
