One of the world’s finest firms has a rare opportunity for a seasoned business development and marketing manager for their Washington, DC and Northern Virginia Intellectual Property Practice groups. 

 

You will help drive revenue to a billion-dollar, global law firm through strategic initiatives, client events, marketing materials, web, and interactive channels. This position offers high visibility within the Marketing department and with partners around the world in the Intellectual Property, Life Sciences, and Technology Transactions practices.

 

You will work closely with the IP, Life Sciences, and Technology Transactions practice groups to implement marketing and business development plans; research and identify opportunities for promoting, cross‑selling, and deepening existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility. You are the point person to work with organizations and vendors to maximize sponsorship benefits and engagements. Prepare customized pitches/RFPs and other marketing collateral that win new business, plan events and marketing campaigns, work with cross-functional teams to help drive brand, social media and PR, and meticulously maintain updated marketing materials. Manage several blogs, working closely with editorial teams of lawyers. Ensure thorough execution of all deliverables, with data and content consistently accurate and well presented. Collaborate effectively with Marketing colleagues and attorneys throughout the firm’s global network, including in Europe and Asia. Guarantee client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position. You will also work closely with lawyers across practices in the region to drive opportunities. A global mindset is imperative.

 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; JD a plus. At least five years of relevant experience in professional services marketing; law firm experience preferred.

 

Working knowledge of intellectual property, patent, and litigation practices desired, with direct work experience a plus.  Outstanding project management skills and an outstanding verbal and written communicator.  Strong knowledge of core marketing principles including branding, competitive intelligence, market research, and pitch and RFP responses.
