Business Development & Marketing Manager in the Patent/IP – Life Sciences Practice Group

One of AM Law’s 50 best law firms with offices worldwide has an opening for a Marketing & Business Development Manager within the Marketing department in their Washington, DC office.

They are looking for a marketing wiz to help drive revenue to a billion-dollar, global law firm through strategic initiatives, client events, marketing materials, web, and interactive channels. This position offers high visibility within the Marketing department and with partners around the world in the Intellectual Property and Life Sciences practices.

You will work closely with the IP and Life Sciences practice groups to implement marketing and business development plans; research and identify opportunities for promoting, cross‑selling, and deepening existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility. You are the point person to work with organizations and vendors to maximize sponsorship benefits and engagements. Prepare customized pitches/RFPs and other marketing collateral that wins new business, plan events and marketing campaigns, work with cross-functional teams to help drive social media and PR, and meticulously maintain updated marketing materials. Ensure thorough execution of all deliverables, with data and content consistently accurate and well presented. Collaborate effectively with marketing colleagues and attorneys throughout the firm’s global network, including in Europe and Asia. Ensure client service and satisfaction is attained in all areas of the position.

Please have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field required and at least five years of relevant management experience in professional services marketing; law firm experience preferred and a working knowledge of intellectual property, patent, and litigation practices desired, with direct work experience a plus.  Please have impeccable project management skills and be a superstar verbal and written communicator. Please possess a strong knowledge of core marketing principles including branding, competitive intelligence, market research, and pitch and RFP responses.
