You will Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation.  Study programs and talk with managers and developers. Work with technical staff to make programs easier to use and thus need fewer instructions.  Organize and write supporting documents.  Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding.  Select appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videos. Standardize content across platforms and media. Gather usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers. Revise documents as new issues arise
Editing, typing, and preparation of memoranda of a technical and/or managerial nature. Maintenance of logs relating to work in progress, meetings, etc.  Documentation will often involve flow diagrams, configuration drawings, functional systems flow diagrams, graphics, etc. Reviews content of technical documentation for quality. Produces technical and scientific illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate to the requirements. Coordinates work of lower level personnel to include the development, writing and auditing material of an IT technical nature.
Specifically, you will Prepare manuals, user guides, briefs, proposals, instruction books, and amendments to information management standards relevant to the mission. Supervise the organization of material and writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, type, and terminology. Review material and recommend changes in scope, format, content and methods of reproduction. Edit, standardize and make changes to material prepared by program managers and other technical and non-technical personnel. Research and interpret a variety of government regulations and standards. Provide guidance and assistance to all levels of technical and non-technical personnel.  Ensure that documents follow the style laid out in the style guide.

 

You must have at least 3 years of progressive experience, College preferred, but not required AND AN Active Top Secret Clearance is required
