As a full-time Permanent employee, you will primarily be responsible as the Project Manager (on site) in activating healthcare facilities in Long Beach, CA and Reno, NV

As a Senior Project Manager in Healthcare will be a member of the Healthcare Activation Team and is responsible for managing efforts required to open the a new, expanded or a renovation of facilities.

This role will be under the general supervision of the Program Manager of Healthcare Activation & Transition, and will work closely with the Project Teams, Operational Owners and Design & Construction. This role ensures the completion of assigned items under the project, within budget, on schedule, while meeting all project objectives and appropriate governmental regulations. Also acts as a liaison between the client/users and all other project participants including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside jurisdictional agencies.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).

· Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

· Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

· Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

· Utilizes clinical and business knowledge to be able to work with a variety of clinical and non-clinical departments on the impact of design for efficient workflow enhancing the patient experience, patient and staff movement and patient safety.

· Through the various assigned Transition Committees, this position will provide leadership and staff through discovery, change and implementation efforts needed to realize the desired level of operational functionality and efficiency upon opening the expansion.

· Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and within Transition Committees.

· Ability to understand the patient and family perspective and integrate family centered care into the activation and transition plans.

· Assists with the development of policies and procedures and applicable workflows.

· Ability to effectively lead and facilitate group processes.

· Implements quality control measures to ensure project compliance with department, hospital, and university policies, government codes and regulations; also ensures conformance to the requirements of all project participants.

· Manages communications on a regular and timely basis, ensuring that all project participants are informed of project status, problems, and required actions.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Please be a Certified PMP or working towards it

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university

Experience: five (5) years of years of progressive responsibility directly related work experience within the Veterans Administration Heath System or other large healthcare facility

· Clinical or hospital experience preferred

· Ability to plan strategically both long-term and short-term

· Ability to be user-focused, build relationships and communicate effectively

· Ability to collaborate with multiple service providers

· Ability to demonstrate initiative, good judgment and effective decision-making; exhibit strong process improvement orientation, and have the ability to achieve results through other programs and individuals

· Ability to lead and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

· Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to utilize project management tools

· Ability to make effective oral presentations and prepare concise written reports to a variety of audiences

· Knowledge and application of Lean, JIT, Six Sigma and Flow Manufacturing techniques

· Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Project, Outlook and various file sharing/document repositories

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of technical, professional and business in the fields of healthcare delivery, architecture, and construction, and building design process

7:30 am to 4:30 pm M-F, up to $100.000 and excellent benefits.
