Marketing Communications Specialist

The Marketing Communications Specialist will take the lead on writing, editing and promoting the firm through all types of communications. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Specialist will work closely with two Senior Business Development Managers, other marketing team members and firm lawyers in all practice areas on a wide variety of marketing, communications and business development projects.

You will handle writing, editing, updating and maintaining electronic and hard copy practice group descriptions, lawyer biographies and other collateral materials; Providing support to the Senior Managers in identifying appropriate rankings/award opportunities in which the firm should participate and crafting effective submissions for those rankings, in addition to developing and maintaining a database to capture the ranking information and track the results; Collaborating with the Senior Managers to organize and draft RFP responses and client/prospect pitches and presentations; Helping coordinate lawyer publishing and speaking opportunities, drafting mentions that publicize those opportunities and posting internally and externally across different media platforms; Assisting with internal communications efforts to support business development and cross selling/practice collaboration opportunities; Developing marketing materials to promote the firm’s expertise in particular industry sectors and working with the firm’s InterAction personnel to identify clients and prospects in target sectors and track matters being handled for industry clients; Serving as a back-up to the Senior Managers on projects, meetings and other responsibilities, as appropriate

You must have a minimum of five (5) years demonstrated success in a marketing and/or communications-related field in the professional services arena (law firm experience preferred); Four-year degree; a degree in journalism, marketing or a communications-related field is preferred.  Excellent written and oral communication skills; Familiarity with AP Style, Strong technology background and demonstrated experience with CRM technology (preferably InterAction—Windows, Web and IA Mobility), website updates, webinar software, email software (preferably Concep), SharePoint intranet, WordPress blogs, survey tools and social media platforms

Three writing samples that illustrate your ability to produce effective marketing and communications materials are required.

$75,000 – $80,000 depending on experience and an exempt position and the hours are 9:30 am – 6:00 pm with amazing benefits and perks
