The Manager – Regulatory Affairs is responsible for working with members from numerous industry sectors to understand and document industry opinion and goals on subjects related to government regulation (federal and state). The position monitors and proactively interacts with the Federal Agencies and several state commissions and leads development of positions.

The Manager – Regulatory Affairs effectively advocates to achieve related proposed rules. You will work with Government affairs, regulatory affairs and industry affairs with up to 25% local and domestic travel is required.

You will be accountable for managing outcome-based advocacy efforts at the federal and state level to advance the organization’s industry positions with federal and state agencies via in-person meetings, webinar/teleconference and written comments. Maintain close coordination with membership on issues of importance. Form and lead coalitions to achieve assigned objectives, including teaming with other trade associations and/or professional organizations. Actively represent the association in state-level activities with officials, legislators, regulators, other stakeholders, and media. Lead development and implementation of federal and state-level regulatory strategies involving Member company representatives. Understand, analyze and exploit crossover federal and state activities such as policy, regulations and standards development activities

You must have an Undergraduate degree and advanced degrees a plus, 5+ years of experience in government relations. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulatory processes to include industry specific standards, codes and safety matters. Knowledge of electric energy/utility and manufacturing challenges and opportunities, especially effect of regulations. Strong relationship builder with executive presence ability to shape policy-making and regulatory processes to meet goals. Trade association experience is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to persuasively advocate in private and public and proficient in Microsoft Office suite
