Marketing Coordinator, Wholesale (Value Added)
Investment Management Company, Bethesda, MD

Rare opportunity to join on of DC’s finest investment management firms. The firm seeks a Marketing Coordinator in their Wholesale Channel Marketing department. This position is responsible for managing the development of value-added marketing programs from concept through execution in collaboration with the company’s field wholesalers, internal sales desk associates, and national key accounts managers.

You will help financial advisors and planners deepen their relationships with existing clients and earn new clients, these value-added programs may consist of ad-hoc presentations and sales tools or more comprehensive, integrated selling systems and generally fall into two broad categories, 1) investment insights and strategies, and 2) practice management. As such, this role requires a solid understanding of fundamental and often technical investment concepts, an acute understanding and insight to the business needs and concerns of financial advisors and planners, and strong creativity and an ability to conceptualize and package programs that deliver squarely on those needs in a highly persuasive way.

This role involves the writing of technical and promotional presentations, requires strong independent creative capabilities, and entails periodic identification and negotiation of speakers and contractors who will support the objectives for value-added marketing programs. This role also taps into both the creative and technical talents of the company’s marketing staff and agency resources and works closely with senior-level colleagues in other departments such as Portfolio Management, Performance Analytics, and Sales. Ultimately, the success of this role will be determined by the development of creative, scalable and sustainable value-added marketing programs that earn the company brand loyalty among financial advisors and planners, are sought after by broker/dealer distribution partners, and contribute to the company’s bottom line sales and retention goals.

Requirements

You must have at least eight to ten years of marketing, communications or sales experience in a financial, banking or investment firm or department; experience in a third-party distribution business model a plus. Please have at least five to seven years of investment management marketing and/or brokerage advisory industry experience strongly preferred

BA/BS degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred; CFP® or comparable advanced accreditation highly desirable. Licensed with a FINRA Series 6 or 7 needed

Compensation

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 plus 10% target bonus
