As a full-time Permanent employee, you will primarily be responsible as the Patching Engineer to a small Federal Government agency that provides banking services (insurance, investment, loans) to US-backed programs in developing countries to advance US foreign policy.  The team supports the Director of Management and Administration in a variety of areas including the CIO organization.  The team provides network engineering and operations support for a robust infrastructure.


We are seeking a highly capable Systems Engineer with a breadth of skills and solid experience to join a small Network Operations team.  You will be working in a fast-paced environment, you will help shape and implement the CIO’s vision, improving the usefulness, stability, security, performance, and efficiency of the network/server infrastructure.  


Please be well seasoned and experienced to recognize systemic issues, expertise to research and identify alternatives, and strong communications/consulting skills to recommend solutions to the client. 


You will troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2/3 incidents and requests.  Stand up and configure new tools and new capabilities as needed.  Modify existing configurations and settings to achieve desired end results on applicable systems.  Monitor network and server operations and generate reports regarding network/server health.  Clearly document and present proposed changes (CRs) and brief details along with risks, rollback plans, timeframes, etc. in change control meetings.  Create and update system documentation when making changes.  Support other members of the team and collaborate with other teams as needed to plan for changes and resolve issues.

Please have 8-12 of progressive experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent. 

You must have SCCM, WSUS, VMWare set up and configuration experience with CITRIX; NetApp Storage Platform; Active Directory/GPO configuration and creation; Windows Servers; O365; Vulnerability mitigation; PowerShell scripts; Familiarity and experience with the following is a plus; Palo Alto; Riverbed; Microsoft Azure; Centrify; Citrix/Juniper; Experience working within an ITIL framework, and Solarwind is a plus; Work in a large Enterprise environment a must
