As a full-time Permanent employee, you will primarily be responsible as the senior interior designer (on site) in activating healthcare facilities in Reno, NV

This position works to provide senior level Interior Design for the Facilities Management Service (FMS). You will work under direct supervision and resolve problems associated with the work of the office. The position is under the direct supervision of the Assistant Chief, Facilities Management and is responsible for planning, leading and project management oversight. The Interior Designer works dependently with the Assistant Chief and Senior Interior Level Interior Designers by providing construction drawings, finish selections, design conception, space planning services, furniture selection, cost estimates, relocation services, planning and project management for relocation and furniture installation and credit card purchasing and tracking in order to assure suitability of all design choices related to the VA healthcare system. The ideal candidate will perform all duties in accordance with established practices of the Interior Design profession and possess some expertise in all aspects of the profession, including knowledge of VA technical requirements. You will ensure all safety issues are met throughout the VASNHCS to include other clinical and administrative leased spaces.

Major Duties:

Performs senior level technical, administrative and professional work involving managing, administering, operating and supporting services and programs related to the operation and safety of Federal facilities. Designs senior level building interior design environments to promote employee productivity, health and welfare, and/or health and welfare of the public. Creates designs and furnishes buildings and medical facilities. Prepares the necessary visual aids, such as architectural drawings, sketches, renderings, color boards, and physical models, for presentation of projects to appropriate officials. Assists in the preparation of floor plans, furnishings and accessory selections. Assists in investigation and documents client needs for interior design, analyzes needs, proposes options, and develops specific solutions. Advises on the total design of a building or medical facility. Prepares preliminary space plans for proposed projects, including detailed specifications, to evaluate alternatives. Utilizes AutoCAD and other project related software to maintain accurate records of project in all stages, from planning and design through completion. Serves as a purchase card holder for Interior Design requirements and complies with all the acquisition regulations, both Federal, VA and local to include 8A, small business, Javis Wagner O-Day Act, and mandatory sources. Reconciles purchase card charges within the established time limits.

Skills: 5+ years of healthcare facility design

Bachelor’s degree in related field

NCIDQ Certification required

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

7:30 am to 4:30 pm M-F, up to $88.000 and excellent benefits.
