Systems Developer with an active Secret Clearance

This is a full-time permanent W-2 position.

 

This incredible, stable and growing IT services government contractor filled with happy people seeks a Senor Software Engineer to work in Dayton, OH as part of a dynamic team working on a DOD project.

 

You must have experience using Java, JavaScript, and PL/SQL, as well as other related tools/languages; Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the Software Development Lifecycle; Work with our customer and the development team to understand requirements; Communicate technical issues, approaches, best practices, and alternatives to the customer and appropriate SMEs, as well as other members of the development team; Analyze issues to create development and non-development solution options while identifying associated impacts; Communicate regularly via chat, email, phone, and technical documentation; Use diagrams, flowcharts, layouts, and other means to improve the comprehension of technical communications; Fully document all code changes; Review changes made by other developers; Implement system changes in a controlled manner with minimal system disruption;  Proactively analyze systems and recommend changes to policies and procedures; Protect operations by keeping information confidential; Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues; Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related duties as needed

 

You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Electronics OR equivalent experience. 4 years of Information Technology (IT) experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.

 

5+ years of professional experience working with Java Servlets, Java Server Pages, JavaScript, HTML application front-end and middle tier code, and PL/SQL in the database tier as well as integration with database/directory/ad hoc tools; Experience interpreting/drafting software requirements in a technically proficient manner; Experience developing enterprise applications in accordance with secure coding standards and practices;Experience designing and developing technical reports and integrating them with report tools; Experience testing the functionality of the entire assembled system after design/build against the requirements; Knowledge of unit testing to ensure resolution or mitigation of software problem reports

 

Active Secret Clearance and Active DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (e.g., CSSLP, CASP)

 

Desired Skills are experience with the following technologies: XML, CSS, JSON, AJAX, jQuery, Java 7 and 8, JSP 2.2, Servlet 3.0, PL/SQL, Oracle Reports 12c & 11g, WebLogic; Experience using NetBeans, IntelliJ IDEs; Experience with build systems (e.g., Ant, Gradle); Experience using source control systems (Git); Professional experience with customer/interface partner interaction and interchange, problem resolution, workload allocation, and issue tracking; Experience/Knowledge using the Systems Engineering Process (SEP); Experience/Knowledge using the Service Development and Delivery Process (SDDP)
