This amazing Merrifield, VA technology research and development firm near the Dunn Loring metro seeks a full-time time scientist or engineer to manage the concept, design and development of state-of-the-art sensor systems, including sensor design, integration concepts, processing, and exploitation.  The initial activity will principally involve both active and passive multispectral electroptical sensors operating in the visible and infrared domains.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of a team of senior and peer scientists and engineers developing and executing a complex system development and integration effort
  • Develop, maintain and derive operational parameters from multidimensional high-fidelity system performance models
  • Develop, empirically support and empirically implement concepts for improved system performance
  • Coordinate technical project activities with internal customers, and principal and secondary external customers
  • Develop, empirically support and technically represent system engineering activities leading to a successful integrated concept
  • Leverage company processes and assets to bring best available solutions to the project

Required qualifications

  • You must possess and retain an active Top Secret clearance
  • 10+ years of experience in relevant system science, engineering and development
  • A Master’s Degree or equivalent in relevant technical disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in metrics-based systems engineering

In a perfect world qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree from an accredited in-residence program in a relevant technical discipline
  • Five years of experience in the development, integration and exploitation of active and passive multispectral electroptical sensors
  • Three years of experience in the development, integration and exploitation of  laser and/or lidar systems
  • Five years of experience as a principle team leader working with both scientist and engineers
  • Five year of experience working on technical problems of interest to the defense or intelligence community
