You will Coordinate, manage, and execute monthly patching cycles.  Monitor the release of new patches (e.g., MS, Adobe, Java). Coordinate across the OPs, Software, and Security teams to identify the scope of each monthly patch release. Create and deploy packages using SCCM. Monitor and report on results.

Manage communications about patch content and timing with other teams and the end user community. Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2/3 incidents and requests. Stand up and configure new monitoring tools and new capabilities as needed. Modify existing configurations and settings to achieve desired end results. Monitor network and server operations and generate reports regarding network/server health. Clearly document and present proposed changes (CRs) and brief details along with risks, rollback plans, timeframes, etc. in change control meetings. Create and update system documentation when making changes. Support other members of the team and collaborate with other teams as needed to plan for changes and resolve issues.

 

YOU MUST HAVE:

 

10+ years of overall experience in IT AND 8 years as a systems administrator, systems engineer with increasing responsibilities over time.

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.

 

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment

 

Demonstrated, “hands on experience” with the following tools and technologies:

 

Active Directory/GPO configuration and creation

SCCM and development/deployment of desktop/server patches

NetApp Storage Platform

VMWare set up and configuration

CITRIX

Windows Servers

O365

Vulnerability mitigation

PowerShell scripts.

* Familiarity and experience with the following is a plus

* Experience working within an ITIL framework is a plus

 

Understands/experience with implementing CIS benchmarks, USGCB baselines

 

Experience with MS Azure, Palo Alto, Riverbed, Centrify, Juniper, NetApp, is a plus, not mandatory

You must have at least a Public Trust Clearance
