Will Train IP Design Specialists

RARE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN PATENT LAW

The DC office of this international IP law firm seeks 2 full-time will train Patent foreign design specialist.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors or Associates degree with a high GPA and a minimum of 1 year of Patent, Law firm or other professional services experience.

You must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks including meeting strict deadlines and having a keen eye for detail. Candidates will work closely with other members of the team must be able to communicate effectively with team members, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries and management. Incumbent will have strong written and oral communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Bachelor’s degree preferred although not required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Assisting with the filing and prosecution of U.S. and foreign design patent applications prepared by attorneys.
•Reviewing PTO documents for accuracy and preparing and filing requests for correction of official filing receipts, requests for corrected assignment recordation cover sheets, requests for certificates of correction, reviewing and updating status charts with incoming docket due dates, etc.
•Preparing and forwarding client reporting letters for new application filings, recorded assignments, official filing receipts and issued patents; maintaining prior art collections and performing prior art searches for citation in IDS’s
