This well run, stable and growing association located in Alexandria, VA with free parking seeks a Director of Member Services who will develop and manage the association’s member experience, database, member recruitment/retention, and member services including non-dues revenue.

You will develop and apply data-driven plans for recruitment, on-boarding, retention, and engagement strategies; Oversee the management of the iMIS database keeping it current and secure; Develop and apply data-driven plans for recruitment, on-boarding, and segmentation; Develop and manage compelling member services that provide value to members; Develop and manage non-dues revenue programs; Develop and manage the daily operations of the membership function;

You must have a Bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree or certification is highly preferred.

A minimum of five years’ experience developing and implementing member engagement and non-dues revenue programs.

Previous experience working for a non-profit.

Organized self-starter capable of making independent decisions affecting the development and implementation of the sales, marketing, communication, database, and member services goals of the Strategic Plan.

A certificate in membership, non-dues revenue, or association management preferred.

You will directly supervise employees and contractors within the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with the Employee Handbook, Board of Directors Policy Manual and Handbook, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, making hiring recommendations, supervising the training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work in accordance with the  Strategic Plan; appraising performance; making reward and discipline recommendations; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

You should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; ability to read financial reports; ability to utilize human resource systems; and the ability to use association management software and customer relationship software.

You may be required to travel, including travel over weekends.
