Legal Support Team Specialist – Litigation Preferred
Located near Foggy Bottom Metro
10:00-6:30 M-F with paid overtime.
Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000
Work Model: Onsite 4-5 days a week during your first 90 days and then up to 2 days remote after 90 days. Training will be at the firm’s East Coast headquarters for the first 3 days (at the firm’s expense), and thereafter in DC.
This successful and growing East Coast-based firm with over 200 attorneys seeks an experienced legal assistant.
The Washington, D.C. office seeks an experienced Legal Support Team Specialist to assist and support attorneys and paralegals by performing a full range of administrative and clerical duties. This position requires 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant, Legal AA, or legal Secretary, preferably in litigation, in a law firm or similar setting.
Position Reports to: Legal Support Team Supervisor
Primary duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide legal, word processing, and administrative support to attorneys and paralegals
- Provide physical floater coverage to legal assistants as assigned
- Schedule and organize activities such as meetings, travel, and conferences for attorneys
- Maintain and update all filing, including organizing and maintaining attorneys’ case files
- Prepare monthly client billing for transmittal to clients according to Firm guidelines (including review for edits/corrections)
- Prepare reimbursement and marketing expense reports, track reimbursements for receipt of payment
- Maintain personal correspondence, reading files, billing letters, expense reports, and time entry files
- Enter timesheets into the CMS database for attorneys
- Open new client/matter files per Firm procedures
- Ability to work with attorney calendars and contacts when requested
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned with regard to this position
- Competency with the following software:
- Word 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Styles, Table of Authorities and Table of Contents
- Kofax PDF (converting/formatting documents from PDF to Word and bookmarking, redacting, bookmarking, highlighting, etc. within PDF)
- NetDocs or an understanding of a document management system
- Literacy or an understanding of redlining documents and tracking changes
