Accounting Assistant – Learn Legal Accounting

Location: Boston, MA

Learn law firm accounting – Will Train!

Work Model: Hybrid. For the first 90 days, you will work 3 days a week in the Boston office. After 90 days, it is 2 days a week in the office

You must live within a 45-minute commute to downtown Boston

You will report to the Accounting Manager located in another office, but you will be part of a 5-person team in Boston and DC.

This is a non-exempt role, with a salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, outstanding benefits, and a bonus.

Core Hours: 8:30 am-5:30 pm, Monday-Friday

This growing, mission-driven East Coast law firm, with approximately 85 lawyers and staff across 2 offices, specializes in representing clients worldwide, both non-profit and for-profit.  

The role is an integral part of a growing and busy mid-sized Firm’s Accounting Team.  Your primary duties are processing accounts payable, expense reimbursements, collections, assisting the Billing Coordinator with client billing efforts, and other duties as required to support the Team’s overall initiatives.  To succeed, you must know basic accounting principles and have a strong desire to learn proven accounting best practices and systems.  We will provide a full job description at the time of the interview.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ office work experience, preferably in professional services, is a plus.
  • Must have basic knowledge of accounting principles and/or processes.
  • Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with LMS/SurePoint, Center Suite, or a similar client database and reporting requirements is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a non-exempt, regular, full-time position with compensation based on education, years of relevant experience, and the marketplace.  The position is a 40-hour workweek, Monday-Friday, with on-site work two days per week (after 90 days) from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The starting range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package, plus 12 paid Federal holidays and bonus potential.
