The firm needs a detail-oriented, helpful and hardworking person who can direct workflow and pleasantly manage other staff when the attorney is out of the office.
Work for an incredible, well respected, and prominent attorney who handles the oversight of fiduciaries who qualify before the Circuit Court for Arlington County and the City of Falls Church, Virginia, including Executors and Administrators of Estates, Trustees of Testamentary Trusts, Guardians of minors, and Conservators of incapacitated adults. You will work for the lawyer and their law firm, not Arlington County.
This role combines the jobs of a legal assistant, legal secretary, and office manager.
You will process all incoming information by snail mail, email, courier, etc.
Creating new case files in Time Matters (case management system)
Scanning and documenting receipt of all incoming documents
Answering calls from the public and phones and assisting clients in person
Billing for filing and penalty fees
Tracking & enforcing filing dates and deficiency responses.
Preparing enforcement histories, summonses, and reports to the court
Scheduling hearings and preparing subsequent reports
Working closely with Court staff, including judges, clerks, and law clerks.
Liaison for employees who work remotely.
Office maintenance and organization, including maintaining digital files
Willingness to learn fiduciary account auditing
Ability to handle simple math
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
At least 5 years of legal assistant, paralegal, administrative, clerical, and/or secretarial experience
Prior experience in a legal environment is preferred
50 wpm typing
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred
You must be comfortable working in a very quiet office.
