This incredible leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Client Development Manager to support its nationally recognized Intellectual Property practice.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic business development and marketing professional who enjoys collaborating with attorneys, driving client growth initiatives, and creating high-impact marketing materials in a fast-paced professional services environment.
Ideal Background
- 4–5 years of business development/client development experience.
- Law firm experience is required, preferably in BigLaw, though strong candidates from mid-sized or smaller firms will also be considered.
- IP or technology practice experience is preferred but not required.
- Candidates supporting transactional practice groups often transition well into this role.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of the Client Development team, you’ll partner with attorneys and firm leadership to execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives that strengthen client relationships and expand the firm’s Intellectual Property practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute strategic business development and marketing plans for the Intellectual Property practice.
- Create compelling client pitches, RFP responses, presentations, brochures, website content, thought leadership pieces, and other marketing materials.
- Identify business development opportunities and collaborate with attorneys to pursue new client relationships.
- Coordinate client seminars, conferences, sponsorships, and speaking engagements from planning through post-event follow-up.
- Prepare submissions for industry rankings and legal directories, including Chambers, Legal 500, and Law360.
- Track representative matters and practice experience for use in proposals and marketing initiatives.
- Partner with competitive intelligence teams to support client targeting and market research.
- Manage digital marketing content, email campaigns, attorney biographies, practice descriptions, and marketing collateral.
- Coordinate internal communications related to business development initiatives.
- Monitor practice metrics, assist with budgeting, and support additional strategic projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Five or more years of business development or marketing experience within a law firm or other professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of professional services marketing, client development, and strategic business planning.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with attorneys, firm leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished work product.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.
- Experience with CRM platforms and marketing technologies is preferred.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Harvey AI, or ChatGPT to improve productivity.
- Ability to travel occasionally and work additional hours when needed to support client events and firm initiatives.
