Human Resources – Secretarial Manager
One of DC’s premier top 100 law firms located near Foggy Bottom Metro has a rare opportunity for a Human Resources – Secretarial Manager for their DC office. The firm needs legal experience in 3 key areas, human resources, secretarial support services, and legal and staff recruiting.
Up to $110,000 with or without a degree.
Please have a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience; 5 years of experience in a legal environment doing HR, Support Services and Legal Recruiting.
This position requires experience or knowledge in the 3 areas below to be successful.
1) Secretarial Support Services. You will supervise secretarial staff; determine assignments and makes necessary pairing adjustments; encourage and promote teamwork and cooperation throughout Secretarial Support Services by working with lawyers and secretaries to identify problems and provide resources; maintain work schedules and prioritize workload and workflow; organize coverage for scheduled and unscheduled absences; monitor and approve requests for overtime and other related expenses; work with Global Training team to assess secretarial skills and develop training plans where needed.
2) Human Resources. Provide regular year-round HR support on employment issues and general HR matters, including performance management, dismissals, absence management, leave of absence administration and employee relations; liaise with firm-wide HR to coordinate locally the staff evaluation process, ensuring any performance related issues are identified and addressed; maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment matters, immigration, FLSA compliance, etc.
3) Staff/Legal Recruiting. Provide guidance and assistance with the full cycle recruiting process for staff, attorneys, paralegals, and summer associates including screening, interviewing and selection of qualified candidates; provide guidance and assistance with on-campus interviewing to include establishing and maintaining relationships with law school recruiting offices, candidate pre-selection, law school candidate interviewing, and recruiting events.
