Government and Global Trade Paralegal

This fantastic firm seeks a paralegal whose defining characteristics are achievement, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness, and adaptability; then, you are the person they are seeking to join their Washington office.

You will work directly with six attorneys in the International Trade practice group with a broad range of responsibilities that encompass all aspects of international trade.  Specifically, to antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings before the Department of Commerce, the Court of International Trade, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

 

You will draft court pleadings such as summons, disclosure forms, motions to intervene, joint status reports, proposed orders, motions to dismiss, and other miscellaneous court documents; draft correspondence relating to requests for extension of time, letters of submission of administrative protective order applications and certifications; requests for administrative reviews and miscellaneous correspondence to the Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission.  Organize client questionnaire responses to requests for information, including exhibits. Review same for confidentiality and identify proprietary information in compliance with Department regulations. Review and edit briefs to conform to bluebook citation rules.  Coordinate multifaceted office functions encompassing legal calendar management, monitoring federal register, court, and trade-related websites for case-relevant data and general information relevant to the International Trade practice group. Submission of court pleadings through electronic database filing systems. Manage and maintain electronic litigation document systems.  Perform computerized and library research to obtain and gather case-relevant data and materials.

 

You must have a minimum of three (3+) years of hands-on paralegal experience in a legal or corporate environment.

 

You must have a minimum of three (3) years of Litigation, International Trade, or Government agency paralegal experience.

 

Any experience with antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings is highly desirable.

 

You must have solid computer skills; knowledge of and experience using MS Word, Outlook Calendar, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Progressive use of A.I. technology and technical tools including Relativity, Case Notebook and Case Map. Knowledge and experience using PACER and CM/ECF expected. Specific practice areas may require specific software illuminated during the recruiting process.

 

The job is currently remote with back to the office by late fall in DC
