IP Docket Clerk

Currently working remotely until November and then return to in-office work in Chicago, IL.

Salary up to $80,000 with a bonus at year-end.

As the IP Docket Clerk you provide professional IP docket support services the intellectual property prosecution practice.

You will utilize the firm’s intellectual property docket application to calendar events and deadlines related to foreign and domestic patent and trademark registration and renewal; domain name registration and enforcement; and other matters handled by the Firm’s Intellectual Property and Internet Practices. Prepares and distributes reports and communications to the Firm regarding filing deadlines. Corresponds with foreign counsel regarding patent, trademark, and domain name deadlines/action dates. Files legal documents with courts and administrative agencies (both electronically & in paper form). Conducts general research regarding rules and procedures of various foreign and domestic administrative agencies, including the USPTO, TTAB, and ICANN. Coordinates activities with vendors to provide support to the Docket Department fulfilling requests from attorneys (for example: courier services, services of process, retrieval of documents). Maintains patent and trademark files

Please have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job

Please have a minimum of one  year of IP docket experience

Familiarity with ICANN procedures, preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required

Typing of 50+ WPM

Proficient with IP calendaring software such as Patricia or CPi, or iManage preferred
