Legal Billing Client Account Manager

This position is currently working four days a week remotely until September 1st, when additional days in the office will increase. 

Up to $250,000 DOE plus bonuses

This fantastic firm seeks a Client Accounts Manager who will contribute to a growing and essential function within the firm.  You will assist the group’s billing partners with the operational finance support of their client relationships in a high volume, complex legal practice.

You will establish and manage finance structures that ensure client specifications in invoicing and other requirements, including completing the monthly invoicing cycle and managing the partner’s interface with firm administrative functions. This visible and critical resource to the practice requires an adept combination of operational management, analysis, tactical processing, problem-solving, and customer service.

This position manages the complete financial relationship for designated portfolios of client matters with tact, diplomacy, and successful negotiation skills from setup through finalization. Additionally, you will coordinate or perform all aspects of invoicing cycle for assigned partners, including E-Billing (e.g., obtaining E-Billing numbers from clients, submitting budgets for approval, reviewing rates).  Interface with collections and pricing functions as necessary to ensure seamless coordination in delivering accounting services to assigned partners.  Interface with BD on RFPs must ensure they have proper budgets, rates, timekeeper information, etc. Work directly with assigned partners, serving as an essential resource in maximizing cycle effectiveness while minimizing their involvement with administrative tasks.  Monitor budgets and communicate with assigned partners and clients as appropriate.  Anticipate outcomes, assess the next steps, and recommend approaches to initiate actionable improvements related to assigned portfolio responsibilities.  Evaluate unbilled and/or accounts receivable inventory and harmonize billing, collections, and financial matter management efforts with partners, attorneys, and other professionals throughout the firm to ensure appropriate revenue realization while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.  In conjunction with attorney teams and billing professionals, work to ensure a complete understanding of client guidelines and compliance.  Fully engages with partners to advise and resolve complex billing, collections, client reporting, and financial matter management issues. Establish, foster, and maintain professional, credible, and collaborative relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients to ensure accounts support attorney and client specifications.  Develop analysis and researches related to assigned portfolios, providing concise, detail-based documentation, statistics, and recommendations.  In conjunction with the Billing Manager, communicate, manage, and track deliverables of assisting Client Account Specialists.  Establish effective cross-training and knowledge transfer procedures to ensure seamless support for all portfolio matters.  Address ad hoc practice or client requests like accruals and budget updates.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other related subjects

Advanced accounting/finance experience preferred

A minimum of three (3) years of professional services, including E-Billing experience, is required

Legal billing experience with a large Law Firm, supporting a practice group is necessary

One year of previous supervisory experience of at least two staff is preferred

Professional services E-Billing operations and systems expertise required

Strong legal electronic billing knowledge preferred in Adertant, E3, E-billing Hub, BillBlast, and other Legal Accounting systems required

 

Advanced Excel spreadsheet/analytical proficiencies required

Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency required
