This International employee-focused State-of-the-Art Government Contractor that provides migration, networking, computing, and security for hybrid cloud environments with cutting-edge contracts all over the country seeks a Senior Network Engineer – L2/L3 DevSecOps Engineer who is ready for the next step in their career.

The firm is responsible for internal and customer operations facing data centers and services like storage, compute backup, and network. The Cloud Network Delivery unit, as part of Cloud Infrastructure Services, supports the client’s global network infrastructure, including the local as well as the wide-area networks.

Responsibilities:

Within Steady State environments, provide senior technical diagnosis and remediation where possible, and conduct RCA’s for Sev 1 priority outages

Review and Provide input to Network architecture

Advise on business and functional requirements for Projects relating to the Network Management Services

Contribute to and coordinate implementation of Network design, engineering, security plans and schedules (e.g., service design package) to support new and enhanced application, architectures, and standards based on established procedures as needed or requested by the client, including, but not limited to, providing for Network connectivity: (a) between client location; (b) between client locations and any client telecommunications cloud maintained by a Third Party provider; (c) between any client telecommunications cloud and any designated Supplier locations, and (d) as required to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements set by the customer.

Contribute to Network design, engineering, security plans, and schedules

Work with network architects to provide recommendations for optimizing Network design

Provide technical advice to all IT groups and service areas to optimize utilization of data and applications over the network (e.g., IT architects, other network engineers, Third Party entities, and maintenance service providers)

Implement, and manage standard architectures across all locations for remote access, wireless LAN, and security across the enterprise (Firewalls, IDS/IPS solutions, etc.)

Responsible for maintaining and upgrading network infrastructure. Including patching and firmware upgrades.

Recommend standard Network Operations and Administration Services procedures

Install and maintain firewalls, establishing and maintaining company-wide access policies to the internet

Provide technical support and assistance to the customer, as needed.

Performing analysis and collecting data to establish the potential for improvements within the communication networks

You will work with third-party providers to keep the networks running and coordinate RMA’s and firmware updates.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Cisco Networking products
  • experience with wireless LAN
  • experience with security across the enterprise to include: Firewalls and IDS/IPS solutions
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work with L2/L3 Switching
  • Able to work with installing hardware, including cabling as needed.
  • Monitor network equipment such as switches and WAPs
  • Supporting and troubleshooting Cisco routing and switching equipment as well as other components of LAN and WAN networks
  • Troubleshooting and managing Meraki switches
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendors
  • Fluent in troubleshooting and configuring Cisco ISE
  • Able to troubleshoot and configure Extreme Wireless
  • Expert documentation including developing and documenting network designs and concepts.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced and organization.
  • CCNA Preferred
  • 5+ years of experience preferred.
