IT Manager

Sterling, VA location, and you will create your department.

Up to $120,000

Currently, you will work two days in the office and three days remotely.  All PPE and safety protocols are followed while in the office.  Up to 10% domestic travel when it is safe to do so in 2021.

This growing entrepreneurial international retail company based in Sterling, VA, seeks an IT Manager to create and build their in-house IT department.  They are looking for a savvy technologist who can lead both infrastructure and e-commerce initiatives. You will lead the technology department for 13 locations in the US and Canada.  You will use external resources focusing on increasing efficiency, streamlining processes, and e-commerce solutions. You will be the problem-solver responsible for understanding business needs to formulate innovative solutions and align Its goals with its vision. This role requires a collaborator to work with the executive leadership and outside vendors to define strategic and proactive approaches to business needs, including multi-unit technology and systems management, POS management and improvement, communication networks, and infrastructure development.

For now, it will be just you, and you will build and lead an IT organization that allows functionality and responsiveness to a growing company comprised of internal teams – including (store) solutions, help desk support, and infrastructure solutions. Ensure the security of data, information, systems, and equipment that comply with PCI requirements. Collaborate and provide work direction and leadership to projects related to all company (marketing, (store) operations, People, finance/accounting, risk, etc.  Identify opportunities to use technology to impact practice and administrative department strategy and performance. Identify new product and service offerings. Leads and managers vendor relationships and key company partners to ensure a smooth workflow and meet external needs and park (store) needs.  Set standards and monitors improvement.  Ensures that all Team Members (parks (store) or Support Center) have the tools and training required to perform effectively.  Establish an IT department measurable objectives that align with the company and department goals.  Ability to support and integrate where applicable in Canada and US operations.  You will work with point of sale (POS) software, MS Office, and Great Plains accounting software.  As the department and company grow, you will build your team.

Please have 5-10 years of relevant technology and business work experience and two years of management experience.  A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience will be considered.  Multi-unit retail experience and support are preferred.  Ability to understand field operation needs and translate needs into technology-specific requirements via POS (point of sale) or other platforms.
