Remote Vice President of Corporate Fundraising – Development
Location: REMOTE IN THE USA. (The exception is if you are in the DMV area where it would be Tuesday and Thursday in the office.)
$120,000-$140,000 plus an annual bonus
Ability to travel within the US as needed (10-20%)
This national mission-driven community service nonprofit organization with 15 offices nationwide and an incredible team seeks an experienced Vice President of Development (Corporate Fundraising.)
As the VP of Development, will be responsible for managing the pipeline of current prospective corporate and foundations and serve as lead for both frontend and backend development operations. Equal parts strategist and facilitator. You will plan and manage all corporate solicitation and cultivation activities with the base of corporate partners & institutional funders through ongoing communication and solicitation; and ensure timely renewals and continued partnership growth.
You must have strong analytical, planning, and communication skills to work as a member of the organization’s staff, and with the Board of Directors. You will report directly to the Iconic CDO whose management style is collaborative, trust-based, and hands-off, but with an open-door policy and believes in a work-life blend to be successful.
You will have one direct report.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- An experienced strategic leader, who will roll up their sleeves and lead the corporate development team to success.
- Experience with and the ability to secure six to seven-figure deals.
- Someone who will get in the trenches when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the Chief Development Officer to develop, implement, and evaluate long-term goals and strategies to grow revenue in support of the organization’s mission.
- Participate and lead 2 major fundraising galas a year.
- Identifies, cultivates, and solicits partnerships with corporations and institutional funders at the local and national levels and develops trusted relationships with a portfolio of partners, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Generate corporate revenue for the Annual Gala and other donor cultivation events throughout the year.
- Manage the personalized communication strategies with and the fulfillment of customized sponsorship benefits and reporting requirements for all funders

- Solicit information about programs and projects as they are developed
- Evaluate current programs for funding potential and recommend new initiatives based on known interests of funders
- Seek out new funding possibilities to establish institutional priorities and areas where collaborative efforts will advance the organization toward achievement of its goals
- Collect program metrics and analyze budgets to ensure accurate reporting and alignment in fundraising priorities
- Works alongside the Finance Department to build proposal budgets, complete sponsorship/grant reporting, and track sponsorship/grant invoicing and payment.
- Maintains current prospect and partner records in the CRM tool.
- Develops and presents creative and impactful presentations and proposals for corporate partnership opportunities and corporate philanthropic funding.
- Travels to attend industry conferences and meet with existing partners / solicit new partners while serving as a positive ambassador for the organization.
- Anticipate the needs of executive leadership, providing real-time updates on revenue and relevant changes to partners.
- Manage the rhythm of business for all proposals, impact reports, and revenue tracking.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An undergraduate Degree (BA, BS) with an emphasis in marketing, communications, or other related field or commensurate experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in account management, cause marketing, fundraising, sales, or client services in human services, community services, or other nonprofit areas.
- Experience as a VP, Senior Director, or Director in a mid to large-size organization.
- A proven track record securing six-figure, multi-year commitments sponsorships, or corporate partnerships for a small to mid-sized national or regional nonprofit.
- Experience with event planning.
- Experience using relevant software applications, including DonorPerfect & MS Office preferred.
- Highly proactive and autonomous, with experience meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities.
- Outstanding partnership development, customer service, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to gain a thorough understanding of institutional history and programs, services, and events.
- Strong communication skills with all levels of employees to create and maintain effective partnerships internal and external to the organization.
- Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, when required.
